“There’s no rest for the wicked, and the righteous don’t need any!”

I have to say that I am alittle tired today after our large Younique Country Retreat Mega Crop on Saturday.  Wow – I am overwhelmed by the emails and facebook comments we are getting through our Younique facebook and also on the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine facebook page.  I’m so glad you all had a good time.

Doing an event like this is much like giving birth – you feel the pain while going through the process but you quickly forget it and are ready to go again.  We have picked the date of November 11 2012 and someone (Lori) pointed out to me that it is “10,11,12″ – get it.

Here are some photos of the events and I do wish someone would have told me that I looked like a drag queen LOL – I would have taken the costume off sooner.  Mr. Clean did a great job taking all the photos and my sistahs and brother in law were the best – as always.  This is really turning into a family event.

And I’ll share more tomorrow.

Card class coming up October

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Hi Everyone:
Fall is in the air – do you feel it?  I love Fall.  I love the colors and the “Fresh” smell.  I just don’t like what comes after Fall.

Our September card class was well received and we had 10 in for the class.  Here are the cards we did in the class

I love this one.  I couldn’t believe I had some pea pod paper in my stash that I could use for the card AND the Maya Road stick pins are perfect and look just like peas don’t you think?

This one is the cutest and if you look closely in the right hand corner you can see the bubble cap made with the Epihany Craft oval button punch

Another cutie.  We used the South West punch on the corners.  This is the greatest punch because it puts little notches in the corners of the cardstock to hold the twine in place.

The last card allowed everyone to play with Flower Soft on this project as well as trying their hand at working with Glubber glue dots for the sunflower in the top left.

What do you think?  Post me a comment please and let me know if you like the cards.

Better yet come on out to the next class we are holding in October.  Sunday October 16th is the date from 1 to 5 pm.  Cost is $25 for 4 cards.  We will be working on some Halloween and a few others we will keep as a surprise.  We will be using Copics and are gearing this class as Beginner to Intermediate

My oh My oh Maya…

Monday, August 15th, 2011

First let me start off with the name of the winner of our DCWV Halloween paper pack – congrats to Tammy Doering.  I know Tammy will love this pack of paper.  I am using this paper in the Halloween Advent we are doing a class on.  Come out and join us.

Now on to other good news.  We had shipments arrive all last week and continuing into this week with new products from Kaisercraft, Basic Grey, Bo Bunny, House Mouse, Kraftin Kimmie and also Maya Road.  Maya Road is a new supplier for Younique and I am thrilled to pieces with the product line.

Here is what you can expect from Maya Road and Younique

Aren’t they gorgeous.  We are offering bulk stick pins and these are sunflowers.  You can buy 1 or 100 of these beauties. We will be using these pins in our September card class.

More stick pins in packaged form

These little ticket strips and journalling blocks are perfect for cards and/or layouts

Chipboard sets include portraits, home tweet home, trees, sewing essentials and many more

Banners in chipboard and canvas

Beautiful ribbon of mini roses and daisies.  Also love the chipboard Shadow box.  Watch for an upcoming class with this project.

I’m loving the mini key chain chipboard.  Maya carries a full line of these.  Can’t resist all of their chipboard albums like this adorable teapot (this will be perfect at our January crop)

Here are more chipboard albums – girls, boys and dress forms which are really really hot right now.

All of this product is now available in the store and we will be adding to the online shop as well.

That’s it for product previews today and I’ll share more with you tomorrow.

I’m hearing out there that the “latest and hottest” products are Embellie Gellie and Best Glue Ever both products are by Scraperfect.  We must be ahead of the times because we have been carrying this product for over a year and yes we have it in stock.

Stay tuned for more product reviews and contests.

It’s Show time

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

First day on the floor of the CHA show and I couldn’t move fast enough.  I think rollerblades would be a good option for the Winter Show

Was able to get some orders placed today and am so hyped about what we are going to be bringing to Younique that I can hardly contain myself.  I’ll share some photos with you of the new Bo Bunny products and you will have to agree they are beautiful lines and I know you will want to snatch up some of it when you visit

I love this Fall line.  We are going to have lots of fun with this one

And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without the Bo Bunny line of papers

And I had to take a picture of this staff member from Fiskars – doesn’t she have the greatest outfit – and LOVE the boots.  Think I may have to get one of these outfits to greet all of you when you arrive at Younique – NOT LOL

Life is like a bowl of cherries

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Hola Everyone:
I’m still here in Mexico but thinking about all of you (sure I am) and have one week to go.  Boy time sure does fly when you are doing nothing but lying around, sleeping, eating, lying around, sleeping, etc.  We are having a great time but the weather hasn’t been the best.  Last week we had rain on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and this week the same thing.  The winds were so bad the last couple of days we thought we would have to pull all the storm shutters closed.  It’s still windy today but we were able to get some sun at least.  Here’s hoping for a hot sunny one tomorrow.

So other than a broken toe I have not injured myself so that is good news but my sister did pull one of my numbers – you know, the falling one.  We were in Cancun and took some stairs down to the beach and she slid on the cement and fell on her butt.  She was fine and I couldn’t beleive that she was wearing all white and didn’t even get a mark on her.  Now for me – I can’t wear white.  All I have to do is walk out of the bedroom wearing white and I’m dirty.  Never could and never will – white is not good for me.

So before we left for vacation Chef Michael Smith spent the day at RIM (where Mr. Clean works).  Michael was preparing food in their cafeteria and Mr. Clean spent some time chatting with him.  He told Chef Michael how Jeff was working with us at the retreat and he thought that was great and seemed impressed with that – he said the best experiences are as a Personal Chef.  I never really thought about that but it does make sense.  In your typical restaurant you are making the same thing day in and day out but at Younique we are constantly changing up our menu.  Chef Michael signed the book for Jeff.  Thanks Chef, we appreciate it.

Candy land – yes it is.   Hello my name is Heather and I’m a candy addict.

We have been super busy prepping for the Big Crop on February 5th and today was the candy prepping day.  It’s really hard to keep your hands out of the candy jar especially if you love candy as much as I do – always have and (sigh) always will.

We don’t have Willy Wonka helping us but we have our own version of Willy

My mom has been very busy helping me with all the details and we had her filling candy containers all day.  Yummy.

I sure hope you have signed up for our special day on the 5th – if not, sorry but we sold out the whole event.  You will have to catch us on the next one.

Sold to the highest bidder

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

We did it again.  Last week we purchased 4 new (or should I say old) headboards and footboards.  It’s very unusual to find 2 matching sets of twin beds and in one week we found 2 sets – go figure.  We bought 2 at our regular auction and then poor Mr. Clean had to travel 2 hours to get the other 2.  I think you will agree though that they are beautiful.

I love the tall spindles on the footboards.  I think our guests will enjoy sleeping in this room.

I really got a laugh out of my horoscope this morning (um, am I still a Leo?) HAHA

Leo  -  January 20, 2011

An important project could require intense concentration today, Leo, and you’re in the right frame of mind. You could be pleased with the results and so could others whose opinions matter. Expect public acknowledgment of some kind. A boost to your self-confidence is in the works, perhaps even a raise in income. Work hard, enjoy the spotlight, and treat yourself to an evening out.

I have been working hard and so have the members of my family and Monica in our prepping for our February 5th event.

Last night my mom and I were busy plugging away on the table markers, the make and takes for the swag bag and so much more (I can’t give it all away – need to keep some surprises)

My dining room was a sea of red and will be for the next 2 weeks.  I love our table markers don’t you?

This is turning out to be bigger than a wedding.  Our numbers are now at 120 and still counting.

You know I hate to do it but I have to send out a big TOLD YOU SO to Mr. Clean.  He thought we wouldn’t see more than 60 people out to the crop.  I was hoping for 100 and we are selling over both of those.

Isn’t life good?
