Minka – sleeping in our ribbon basket.

So it’s the middle of January and how many of you have already given up on your New Year resolutions?  I don’t make them so I don’t break them but I do try to make some changes for the upcoming year.  This year it’s to be more organized, that is a real challenge.

Our February 5th day crop is filling in quite nicely.  We are at 110 croppers and there is still room for you.  You can sign up for this event in the online store.

We are offering the Basic Grey Page of the Month club again this year and alot of you that missed out on it last year have been asking when the next sign up will be – well it’s now.  This is such a great deal and I know that you will love it.  The club is a kit per month club but they are shipped or picked up every 2 months.  At the end of the 12 months you will receive an album for free to hold your collection.  The monthly cost is $20.99 and  here are some photos of the various kits along with the album we just received for this last years event (gorgeous).  The club will run starting with the February/March kit and you only have one opportunity to sign up.  You cannot sign up after February.

Happy New Year

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

Happy New Year to all of you.  I hope that the holidays were restful for you and you can enter the New Year feeling refreshed.  Of course if you have “destressed”  you can always book a weekend away with Younique and we will take care of you.  Some of you ladies were very smart in booking January for a retreat – there is no better time to get away then when the January blues hit.

We have been so so busy and today is the first day (night) that I have had to catch my breath – well sort of.

Even poor Meeko has had enough and needs a few days rest.

December 18th and 19th had us all hopping with our Super Crops we held in the studio.  What great fun we all had and I know that everyone was more than happy with their goodies they received as well as all the prizes we had.  Take a look for yourself…

Lots of laughs

Make and takes

Lots of food

Lots of prizes

And happy winners!

We will be having an even bigger event on February 5th in Guelph.  This one you don’t want to miss and we still have room for you.  You can sign up through the online store at www.youniqueshop.com

So after our 2 day event on the 18th and 19th we then prepared for Christmas and the arrival of family for the holidays.  Christmas Day was great and spent with the family.  Boxing day we did some shopping and moved some furniture around for my mom to make room for her new TV (which she loved).

We then took off for the States and went to Frankenmuth for 3 days to do some shopping.  We then literally ran in the door on Thursday upon returning and ran back out to go to an auction (and didn’t buy a thing this time).  Friday – New Years Eve we again ran around and picked up stuff for Jeff’s New Years party.  My poor studio was converted into a party room for the night.  Mr Clean and I then took off to spend the night at my sisters.  Arrived home today to the after effects of the New Years Eve party and assessed if there was any damage – all is good – whew.

Now we are trying to recoup and relax after 2 weeks of craziness and of course I’m not feeling well.  Why is it when we finally let ourselves relax we get sick??  Tomorrow will be another busy day as all the linens and bedding etc gets cleaned and prepped for our January arrivals.  Maybe Monday will be the day to relax and do nothing (fingers crossed) LOL.

Happy Canada Day

Ahh, beauty sleep.  I could sure use some of that (well maybe lots) but not going to happen in my life time so I spend it shopping instead.  You can catch up on your beauty sleep though when you come out to visit us.  We purchased some new sleep masks for your sleep time at Younique and they are really cute as you can see in the photo above.  You need to try them out.

So I’m off to Toronto today to pick up Jeff and we are shuffling off to Buffalo tomorrow to do what else but shop.  Jeff is coming with us to Mexico in August (did I mention we were going to Mexico) and he needs some shorts, etc for the trip so I told him we would go to the States to pick stuff up.  I know the trip isn’t until August but we are so booked up and his work schedule means that I’m not going to get another chance to do this with him before August. We decided it’s best to make it an overnight trip and will return on Thursday.  Going to the States has always been a special time for Jeff and I and it’s our time to catch up on things and to really spend some time talking and bonding.   Always good to have Mother and Son bonding time.

Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

This quote comes from the Special Olympics and I thought it was appropriate for today as we announce the winner of our draw.

What draw???  Well if you stopped by to visit us during the day yesterday you were able to fill in a ballot to win some goodies.  Also when I emailed our May newsletter I added a little twist.  If you read the whole email then you knew to send me back an email with the subject line “You deserve it” and your name was also added to the draw.

If you didn’t get our email, send me a note and we will add you to our list.  But don’t fear and “be brave in the attempt” and don’t give up because we are going to give away more goodies on a regular basis starting right now.

Everyone that signs up as a follower on our new blog or signs up to receive the blog via email will be entered in another draw for a great prize.  You must sign up between now and June 1st to qualify.  You won’t be disappointed.

Add a comment to any blog posting between now and June 1st and you will be entered again into the draw.  If you refer our blog to a friend and they sign up as a follower, let me know their name and you will get yet another opportunity to win a prize.  That is 4 chances – lots of chances, totally up to you.

So our prize for the current draw was valued over $25.00 and contained a 6 x 6 pad of Eva paper from Basic Grey, matching chipboard, Eva fibers, 6 x 6 pad of Offbeat and matching chipboard.

AND NOW WE DRAW THE NAME…….

And the winner is…..

Congratulations Lisa.   I know that you will be at Younique in a couple of weeks for your retreat so I’ll hold your prize for you until you arrive.
