The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up. ~Mark Twain

I have been pretty cheery this past week.  It’s been a good one.  First Canadian Scrapbooker informed me that they will be attending our event on January 21st.  They donated a gift for everyone and then later called to tell me Katharina Doyle and Cathie Allan will actually attend the event.  Cathie will be do demos with the Position It.  Can’t wait to have them at the event.

Also this past week I found out that one of my layouts will be in the March 2012 magazine.  I have NEVER been published so I feel so honored to actually have them like my layout enough to put it in the publication.

I’m hoping I get more exciting news like that this week coming up – I can handle this kind of news anytime.

Mr. Clean and I went to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t had a chance to share some of the photos I took.  Look at the beautiful apples all perfect in a row just waiting to be sweetened and baked

Add some brown sugar and butter and bake.  I love anything to do with baking apples but I was a good girl and didn’t eat any of these

STEP  AWAY FROM THE BAKED APPLES….Do you know how hard it is to resist something like this.

It’s Show time

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

First day on the floor of the CHA show and I couldn’t move fast enough.  I think rollerblades would be a good option for the Winter Show

Was able to get some orders placed today and am so hyped about what we are going to be bringing to Younique that I can hardly contain myself.  I’ll share some photos with you of the new Bo Bunny products and you will have to agree they are beautiful lines and I know you will want to snatch up some of it when you visit

I love this Fall line.  We are going to have lots of fun with this one

And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without the Bo Bunny line of papers

And I had to take a picture of this staff member from Fiskars – doesn’t she have the greatest outfit – and LOVE the boots.  Think I may have to get one of these outfits to greet all of you when you arrive at Younique – NOT LOL

Have you seen my mother?

Friday, April 29th, 2011

OMG -  We lost my mother.  It’s funny now but it wasn’t funny when you are in a hurry in downtown Toronto and you can’t find the spot where you dropped her off….

I was in Toronto on Wednesday with my sistah Nancy as she needed to see a Specialist and I decided it would be nice to take my mom along as well so we could have lunch together.  We left early enough so that we wouldn’t be in a hurry, or get stuck in traffic and have Nancy miss her appointment that had been booked for about the last 6 months.  So I decided to drop my mom off in front of The Bay while we parked because she doesn’t do well with walking long distances (or quickly).

So…we park the car and then I forgot where we dropped her off.  Nancy thought it was quite funny – I didn’t-well actually I did.  We asked someone which side of the Eaton Center the Bay was on and we were told The Bay is not in the Eaton Center – oh oh – now we panic – who’s laughing now.

Well we found her in plenty of time to have lunch and I told Nancy not to tell her we lost her.  We then told my mom to wait for us in the Eaton Center as we ran over for Nancy’s appointment.  We told her exactly where to meet us “After all mom, we wouldn’t want to lose you”. :)

So I’m finished my taxes and should be able to get back into a regular routine.  We have been having the usual issues with the internet though.  I’m thinking I just might take my computer to the gym with me and then update after my workout.  I can sit in the lounge area and probably get the update done alot quicker than I can at home.

We have Jeff updating the store with all the new products.  He has been doing this from his apartment where he has super fast internet.  You need to keep checking the store as we get this updated.  We have all the SMASH products in the store right now and you must must order your goodies now as we are going to sell out the first round of products as soon as they hit our store.

We are also bringing in a line from Ecstasy Crafts that will help you create some gorgeous cards using layering and there easy to follow instructions.  Here is a sample of what you can create

Many people look forward to the New Year for a new start on old habits.

Minka – sleeping in our ribbon basket.

So it’s the middle of January and how many of you have already given up on your New Year resolutions?  I don’t make them so I don’t break them but I do try to make some changes for the upcoming year.  This year it’s to be more organized, that is a real challenge.

Our February 5th day crop is filling in quite nicely.  We are at 110 croppers and there is still room for you.  You can sign up for this event in the online store.

We are offering the Basic Grey Page of the Month club again this year and alot of you that missed out on it last year have been asking when the next sign up will be – well it’s now.  This is such a great deal and I know that you will love it.  The club is a kit per month club but they are shipped or picked up every 2 months.  At the end of the 12 months you will receive an album for free to hold your collection.  The monthly cost is $20.99 and  here are some photos of the various kits along with the album we just received for this last years event (gorgeous).  The club will run starting with the February/March kit and you only have one opportunity to sign up.  You cannot sign up after February.

Holy Cow – I was so frustrated this morning.  I was able to get onto my blog right away and I thought – this is great 3 days in a row.  Then I started looking for my photos!!!! Where did they go??? All my 2011 photos are missing – this isn’t good.  So I sit for a 1/2 hour trying to find them in my photos, my server, my documents and still can’t find them.  Wait a second….I can’t find them because IT’S 2010 NOT 2011.  Whew – found them.We have been doing so many bookings for 2011 that my head is already there – that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it

Mr. Clean has been very very busy and such a good hubby trying to finish up the rest of the painting in the house.  He has been working hard and his game plan is “one room at a time”.  He completely finishes one area and won’t let me talk about the next until he is finished.  I’m taking his game plan into my “dungeon office” and sorting things 1 hour at a time.  The task doesn’t seem to be so daunting when you do it this way.  Okay, I’m officially stating that Mr. Clean had a great idea!!

Here is a photo of the family room before

And this is a photo of the “almost complete” room.

I’ll post the final photos of the room tomorrow so you can see the drastic difference.

Some exciting new products have arrived in the store.  I know alot of you like the Page Maps book and I now have stock of the Page Maps 2.  We also have in stock the Scrapbook Generations books.  This is a series of 6 books

Scrapbook Generation Sketches Books

All sketches have a key that indicates which areas are stripes, small patterns, large patterns, contrasting cardstock, etc…no guesswork, no wasted time, no stressing over design. Includes measurements for all the pieces used in a design as well as where to place them on your layout.
Check out their website for more details http://www.scrapbookgeneration.com/id78.html

And to top it off we will be selling them for the same price as the US.  You will love these.

You deserve it

St. Jacobs Farmer’s Market

What a great place to visit for the freshest fruit and veggies.  Come on out to Younique for a weekend retreat and visit the Farmer’s market while you are here.  We are only about 20 minutes away.

Did you know that there is a Chicken Soup for the Scrapbookers Soul?  Yup, there is and I have it.  Some really cute stories in it.  I thought I would share a poem from the book.  It’s so appropriate to what we do at Younique.

What fun you will have on a 3 day retreat

Cutting and pasting with short breaks to eat.

The friends you will see; the ones you’ll find;

Everyone comes to get away from the grind!

You’re crazed from being deprived of slumber;

You pound out the pages, increasing your numbers.

The pain in your back is hard to mistake;

Ignore it-keep going-you’re creating keepsakes.

Then it’s your eyes, the dark circles and bags;

Never mind that, I made 5 new tags.

You sit and eat, someone’s contantly cooking;

Burning off the calories with aerobic scrapbooking.

Then pack it all up, say good-bye to your friends;

Sadly enought it has come to an end.

Even more sadly-andyou know it’s so-

You were wearing the same clothes, 3 days ago.

Keep your eyes posted for the newest contest.  You are going to love the swag.
