It’s Show time

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

First day on the floor of the CHA show and I couldn’t move fast enough.  I think rollerblades would be a good option for the Winter Show

Was able to get some orders placed today and am so hyped about what we are going to be bringing to Younique that I can hardly contain myself.  I’ll share some photos with you of the new Bo Bunny products and you will have to agree they are beautiful lines and I know you will want to snatch up some of it when you visit

I love this Fall line.  We are going to have lots of fun with this one

And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without the Bo Bunny line of papers

And I had to take a picture of this staff member from Fiskars – doesn’t she have the greatest outfit – and LOVE the boots.  Think I may have to get one of these outfits to greet all of you when you arrive at Younique – NOT LOL

Have you seen my mother?

Friday, April 29th, 2011

OMG -  We lost my mother.  It’s funny now but it wasn’t funny when you are in a hurry in downtown Toronto and you can’t find the spot where you dropped her off….

I was in Toronto on Wednesday with my sistah Nancy as she needed to see a Specialist and I decided it would be nice to take my mom along as well so we could have lunch together.  We left early enough so that we wouldn’t be in a hurry, or get stuck in traffic and have Nancy miss her appointment that had been booked for about the last 6 months.  So I decided to drop my mom off in front of The Bay while we parked because she doesn’t do well with walking long distances (or quickly).

So…we park the car and then I forgot where we dropped her off.  Nancy thought it was quite funny – I didn’t-well actually I did.  We asked someone which side of the Eaton Center the Bay was on and we were told The Bay is not in the Eaton Center – oh oh – now we panic – who’s laughing now.

Well we found her in plenty of time to have lunch and I told Nancy not to tell her we lost her.  We then told my mom to wait for us in the Eaton Center as we ran over for Nancy’s appointment.  We told her exactly where to meet us “After all mom, we wouldn’t want to lose you”. :)

So I’m finished my taxes and should be able to get back into a regular routine.  We have been having the usual issues with the internet though.  I’m thinking I just might take my computer to the gym with me and then update after my workout.  I can sit in the lounge area and probably get the update done alot quicker than I can at home.

We have Jeff updating the store with all the new products.  He has been doing this from his apartment where he has super fast internet.  You need to keep checking the store as we get this updated.  We have all the SMASH products in the store right now and you must must order your goodies now as we are going to sell out the first round of products as soon as they hit our store.

We are also bringing in a line from Ecstasy Crafts that will help you create some gorgeous cards using layering and there easy to follow instructions.  Here is a sample of what you can create

I love the smell of napalm in the morning

Monday, March 7th, 2011

Oh such a famous quote from Apocolypse Now.  My favorite quote is my own  “I love the smell of new scrapbooking paper – anytime of the day“

We just received a delivery from Basic Grey and seriously I sit there and smell the new paper and touch it and admire it - it gives me shivers.  I love it.

We just received the Hello Luscious and it is just that Luscious.  You can check out Basic Grey at http://www.basicgrey.com/scrapbook/

If you haven`t had a chance to join the Page of the Month club yet you still have time as we have a few spots left.  Jeff is busy putting the kits together to get them out to all of you that are on the new program.

And here is our new Hello Luscious

What do you think?  Could you use some of this paper?  Post a comment and tell me what you think or how you can use this paper and we will put your name in for a draw for some of your own paper to smell and touch

Where you gonna put it?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Oh my beautiful armoire.  Some of you may remember that I purchased this at an auction awhile ago.  It seems no one wanted it and the opening bid was getting lower and lower.  I looked at Mr. Clean and said I want it.  He response as usual was “Where you gonna put it?” – too late “Sold to number ##” which was Moi.  So I got it at an incredible price of $35. yes 35 bucks.  But now think fast Heather because you have to tell Mr. Clean where you are going to put it.  Ooh I say – this will be perfect in one of the guest rooms with the towels and robes and slippers in it – it will look so nice.  I get the usual response  – rolling eyes.

So we get the unit home and put it in our bedroom until I can get it cleaned up.  Now Mr. Clean is telling me how I got a good price for it and it is quite nice (I’m thinking to myself what is he up to) so I quickly clean it up and move it into one of the guest rooms.  “You know” says he – “this unit would make a perfect humidor”.  Did I hear right??  That’s almost a “you got a good deal”!!  So I tell him too bad it’s mine.

A few weeks later we are at the auction and I see this really nice piece that would be great in the guest room.  I tell Mr. Clean I’m going to bid on it and you guessed it “Where you gonna put it?”.  Without thinking and for some reason a little voice inside of me tells him  “You can have my other armoire and I’ll put this one in the guest room” – darn it…too late to retract those words.

Well now we have this humidor cigar unit.  Mr. Clean lined the unit with Spanish cedar and purchased a unit to control the temperature of his cigars.  Did I mention our bedroom has become a cigar room with all his trinkets and now this huge humidor…but do I complain….not me.  Last Sunday he finished his unit and is all proud of it.  I have to say it looks quite nice however all day Sunday this alarm kept going off.  Mr. Clean doesn’t hear well and the high pitch of the alarm is out of his hearing zone (along with my voice for some reason).  I have to tell Mr. Clean everytime the alarm goes off along with the words “This thing better not go off in the middle of the night”

Guess what?  Yup, it did…around  4 am.  I hear the alarm….punch Mr. Clean to tell him “your stupid alarm is going” to his response “I don’t hear it” like I’m making it up.  He gets up to turn off the alarm and then says to me “Don’t open your eyes” and of course what do  I do- open my eyes –  as he turns the bedroom light on so he can see while he feeds his humidor some water!!!!!!!!  He couldn’t get up to feed Jeff in the middle of the night when he was a baby but he can get up to feed his humidor some water.  Now all is okay with the humidor except of course now I’m awake.  Arrggh

Monday he smiles and says – it’s all good we shouldn’t have any more alarms going off.  Yeah right – and he asks me where I’m gonna put it….snicker snicker….I would love to tell him. LOL

Here is the unit as a completed humidor and I must say he did a great job and it looks really nice.

On a scrapbooking note.  The new Stickles have arrived in the store.  I love them and I’m sure you will too.  There is  Tropical Tangerine, Glam Pink, True Blue, Firefly, Paprika and Lagoon.  Of course I had to take some for my private stash and can’t wait to play with them.

Graphic 45 paper arrived as did 3 Bugs in a Rug – all nice paper.  I’m already working on a layout with the G45 paper and hope to post some photos tomorrow.

Candy land – yes it is.   Hello my name is Heather and I’m a candy addict.

We have been super busy prepping for the Big Crop on February 5th and today was the candy prepping day.  It’s really hard to keep your hands out of the candy jar especially if you love candy as much as I do – always have and (sigh) always will.

We don’t have Willy Wonka helping us but we have our own version of Willy

My mom has been very busy helping me with all the details and we had her filling candy containers all day.  Yummy.

I sure hope you have signed up for our special day on the 5th – if not, sorry but we sold out the whole event.  You will have to catch us on the next one.

When you care enough to scent the best

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

I am so excited because I think they have corrected some of our internet issues.  Maybe they just got fed up of us complaining and decided to do something about it.

I am also excited because we have some new products that I am happy happy about.  We brought in the Bildmalarna Stamps – yeah you heard it right Bildmalarna – and these are from Sweden (picture Magnolias but with faces).  These stamps are really cute and we will be doing a class with them in January.

We also have received our Scents for cards – oh my – I wish this was smell a blog because you would just love this.  These are small bottles of oils that have a roller ball and you roll them along the edge of your cards and when your loved one opens the card it can smell like Christmas, Eggnog, Caramel, Black Licorice, Marshmallow, Cranberry Orange or any other number of scents.  The scents on the cards will last a couple of months.  You have to stop in and pick some up for your cards – it’s grrrreat.

We also have in the Art Impressions stamps.  My mother is going to love these ones.  She is always after me to make House Mouse cards for her but I have to tell you that these just make me giggle.  Come on in and see them.  I’ll be posting some cards made with the stamps hopefully next week.

Our Peachy Keen stamps have become really popular and the Guelphites have finally found me and are hitting the store to buy up Peachy Keens.  These are cute as well and the faces are super for your Paper Dolls Cricut cut outs.

Have you ever tried reading the parking signs in Toronto??  Well you go through each sign – yup I’m okay with the first, yup okay I fit into the second, and so on.  So I was safe parking off of Spadina as Jeff and I ran into a couple of the stores to get some Bakery items and BBQ pork.  Jeff can’t even wait until we get home – he is digging in the bag for a piece of pork.

There are lots of interesting things in Toronto and you know call me sick but some of the graffiti is pretty nice looking but then again some of it is terrible

Chinatown in Toronto is pretty dirty and lots of grafitti everywhere.

So I didn’t get a parking ticket off of Spadina but then Jeff and I went to the Worlds Biggest Bookstore and were too long and guess what?  Yeah you guessed it $30 ticket – darn

Our group arrives tomorrow for the weekend.  Three more weekends and then we are off for Christmas.  That will be a time for planning for the New Year and my little gears are working away…..stay tuned.

My lucky day

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

I can’t believe I’m actually able to do a post 2 days in a row.  Maybe our internet service is improving!!

How perfect are these hats?  The colors match exactly with the Dorm room so I had to buy them of course (you guessed it – at the auction)

Can’t wait for Mr. Clean to hang them in the room.

We have a bunch of specials right now you absolutely need to take advantage of

Are you ready for the big day?

I know I’m not but then I’m one of those that like to shop at the last minute.  I love the hustle bustle in the stores around Christmas time.  Yeah I know I’m sick.
