I love this quote because I totally agree with it. When Jeff was a kid I enjoyed him so much – loved having him around, loved having him spend vacations with us and loved watching him grow up, as exhausting as that was at times, it was fun.
I miss having him around all the time. It’s funny but the longer he is away I start to get used to him being gone but then when he comes home and leaves again the “missing Jeff” starts all over again.
As most of you know I am about 20 years behind on scrapbooking but to my defense it wasn’t big when Jeff was born, so I am having great fun in doing layouts with pictures of Jeff when he was young. I am not doing them in chronological order but rather whatever I feel like doing on a particular day as I don’t want to have the process feel like a chore – it must be fun. Once everything is done I can sort my layouts and put them in order in my wonderful Share and Tell albums from Pebbles.
The nice thing about going back and doing older photos is that you can reminisce about what happened at that particular moment in your life. Whenever I do an old photo Dan and I usually talk about what was happening at that time and it is so nice to have those memories. When Jeff comes home he always goes into the studio to see what Mom has done for layouts and we once again talk about what was happening at that moment in time.
This particular layout was done with the Hey Birdie paper from Kaisercraft (again
). I am loving this paper. This is a photo that was taken in Myrtle Beach. We were staying at a campground called Pirateland and we were in a hard top trailer. There was a really bad storm one night and we thought we were going to pull a Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz so Dan hooked the trailer up to the van so we wouldn’t fly away.
While we were there Jeff made friends with a little girl named Anna Marie. I would like to say she was a true Southern Belle as she was from Atlanta Georgia (accent and all) but she was a real tomboy with rocks and frogs in her pockets and carrying a Hermit Crab in a shell. To a little boy – she was wonderful and fun – what more could a six year old boy want then a girl with rocks and frogs and hermit crabs! They had a great time while we were there and I like to say that this was Jeff’s first love – too cute.
On a happy note – this year Jeff is going to spend vacation with us in Mexico. It has been a number of years since he has spent some vacation time with us and we are all looking forward to it.
Till tomorrow
